Are debts discharged in bankruptcy taxable?
No. As in you can see from our last blog post, "Gross Income Defined" almost everything is taxable "expect as otherwise provided."
The good news is, that debts discharged in bankruptcy is an exception. Debts discharged in bankruptcy are excluded from gross income and are therefore not taxable income.
