Tax master's, a publically traded company, has recently filed for bankruptcy protection. Tax master's offers tax related services to individuals who have past due taxes. The bankruptcy filing comes in the wake of an investigation of Tax master's for violations of several laws including collection and advertising laws.

Tax master's problems come about a year after attorney Roni Dutch, the Tax Lady, was disbarred in California, after an investigation by the CA attorney general. The Tax Lady offered similar services as Tax master's and also advertised on television.
