Attorney Robert Kovacs Attends NACBA Annual Convention

Worcester Bankruptcy Attorney and Firm Founder Robert W. Kovacs recently attended the 2017 Annual Convention for the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. This year’s event was the 25th anniversary for the NACBA Annual Convention, which draws lawyers and legal professionals from around the nation who focus on protecting the rights of consumer debtors in bankruptcy proceedings. This year’s convention was held from May 4 - 7 in Orlando, Florida.

As the nation’s leading voice on consumer bankruptcy law, the NACBA is committed to raising awareness about debt, bankruptcy, and legislative initiatives that promote fairness and protect the rights of debtors. In addition to promoting positive changes in public policy when it comes to debt, the NACBA also serves as a critical support system for the legal professionals who dedicate their careers to helping clients navigate the complexities of the U.S. bankruptcy code. This includes providing educational programs, professional networking opportunities, and the resources attorneys and support staff need to provide exceptional and effective representation.

In alignment with the NACBA goals to improve bankruptcy representation for consumers across America, the convention features a number of keynote speakers. Among the featured speakers were legal experts who shared their insight on the technical aspects of bankruptcy representation, including the admission of or objecting to evidence in bankruptcy court, and notable authors, journalists, and advocates who share a passion for covering economic issues such as debt, student loans, and other financial issues.

The NACBA convention also provides attendees with the opportunity to take Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses, a requirement for attorneys who practice under a state bar. These courses cover a range of legal academics, including ethics, up-to-date issues in bankruptcy and consumer law, and more. Attendees were also able to explore circuit meetings led by members of the bench and other legal professionals to share ideas and insight on the latest local bankruptcy issues and seminars focusing on advanced legal topics.

Having founded our firm on a client-centered approach that ensures consumers have the support and information they need to not only navigate bankruptcy, but also benefit in the long-term from better financial health, Attorney Kovacs is dedicated to remaining up-to-date with the latest issues and developments in bankruptcy and consumer law. His passion for ensuring our clients receive the best possible representation is why he has become a top-rated lawyer by clients and peers, and why our firm is continually trusted by residents throughout Worcester and Massachusetts when they make the decision to take action about problems with debt.
